Album: Around the Bend
a woman's walking with bare feet
up and down the filthy street
she boards a subway car
her nail polish is chipping off
she prays for saints that will not scoff or blow her off
so i light a match inside my brain
my head explodes blood covers the train
she stares in awe
people keep on walking by
they crush my nose poke my eye
she wards them off
she says money makes me sad
but i'm too sad to cry
money makes me sad
but i'm too sad to cry
too truthful to lie
and too numb to die
i get up and walk around
my heads in pieces on the ground
she fixes what's been done
she screams out all her lungs
ties them together with my tongue
and shows everyone
people freeze they don't speak a word
they drop to their knees and offer her the world
she rights their wrong
she says i don't need nothing from you
i've only done what i hope you'd do
and that's where we belong
