There's a man boarding a spaceship on his way to take a look
At the world he's always dreamed of in his head
As for me, I've found a savior on the pages of a book

That I sometimes read but never fully read

And I can't tell who's the bigger fool today
Me or Jesus or that guy in space

I've seen pictures of the ocean and I've felt the salty waves
But I've never drifted too far from the shore
And I've heard stories of some sailors who were strong and young and brave
Who've been lost at sea for ten long years or so

And I can't tell who's the bigger fool today
They who disappeared or me who stayed

There's a man out on the corner, trading songs for pocket change
As the travelers migrate from shop to shop
Oh, and every couple hours, he counts up all that he's made
But it's never more than just a couple bucks

And I can't tell who's the bigger fool today
Him out on that street or me on some stage
No, I can't tell who's the bigger fool today
Me or him or those folks throwing change
