I'm watching you through stained-glass windows
Painting yourself a thousand sorrows
A thousand yesterdays with no tomorrows

Bland shades of blues and grays
I watch your tears wash the storms away
Your empty canvas may mean nothing to ordinary people
But I can see the life you had on that blank, desolate eisle
And still I choose to stand outside in the rain
My humble covered selfishness masks I'm the one truely in pain
I hope you stayed strong without me by your side
I'm sorry I wasn't there but I pray you painted me in your mind
Why would you leave me all alone
It's something I can't understand
And when the machines stop their beeping you won't hear me leaving
I'm sorry I wasn't there to hold your hand...
