Color turns on a draft of air,
washes the soft scent of heat
over everything.

If I could sing,
if I could speak,
I'd tell you everything.

Bodies fumble in a dream,
ignites our soft white smiles
inside everything.
If you could cry,
if you could frown,
You'd tell me everything.

It's all I want to do;
to leave out that window.
to watch you watch yourself
in that same way;
pulling straight your clothes,
putting up your hair.

you're so beautiful.

cut this out before it kills me.
you kill me in a good way.
in a good way.
