Album: Pursuance

I'm realizing just how sorry I truly am for all the shame and self-deception.
Like it all just came apart.
Each cause, each pause, finite, imperfect flaws.

I've reached my utter zenith, tearing through this shallow moderation.

Pray there's no cause to pacify what's left undone,
Just lucid traces of a path we chose to stray from long ago.
What kind of fool revisits blights and contradictions once he's free?

"Just let it go" she said, along with every tired turn of phrase I've ever heard.
It leaves me empty because I know she's got it right,
And I've been so passive -- more contagious than inspired --
A little light breathed into darkness where nothing ever really grows.

Pray there's no cause to pacify what's left undone,
Just lucid traces of a path we chose to stray from long ago.
What kind of fool revisits blights and contradictions once he's free?

Your best taints the rest. Fools like up and they swallow.
Following the same apprehensive state of mind that we follow down.
So many wasted days hiding out in the shadows.
Sorrow filtered through the cracks of what becomes of tomorrow.
Nothing left but the truth, shine a light and we got it.
Draw yourself to a place where the lies are forgotten now.
Prepared for the worst of what becomes of the others.
Just one more life for me to sacrifice.
