Album: Giving Birth to a Stone

At first light you looked so fragile,
Felt that if I moved I'd break you,
Something solid forming in the air around you,
Lifts me off the ground, without a sound,
Swallow me whole, body and soul

Lift me up and strip me naked,
Take my mouth and take my eyes,
Leave me where there are no shadows,
Under starless, cloudless skies

And you say there are no signposts in the sea

Lying empty, shell-like,
In a storm that seems to pass round me,
I can see the shadows of the men that passed here,
Watch them take a stand,
Take me hand,
Swallow me whole,
Body and Soul

And you say I am the captain of your ship,
But you say there are no signposts in the sea
