Album: The Summer of the Shark
Oh come down. please come now
to where I've got myself dug in
sparkling still, but barely sometimes
waiting for you my friend
and i may not know you yet
and you may not know at all
but this is what we need sometimes like now
so please come down, don't stall
every night i sing, my face lit up by
little blinking lights and time it just flies
filling reels of tape with lies and secrets
it's getting to the point where i can't take it
down under the streets, the rocks and the gratings
where the sewer drains is where i'm waiting
i know i ask a lot, and lonely is boring
but i need one more chance to set this story straight...
when the trains are running once more
and you have time to make it round
if you see a light under the door, feel free
to kick it down
well if you see a light under the door, kick it down
and if you feel like coming through the floor
then dig me out, dig me out
i know i painted this room blue
but i won't hold my breath for you
oh come down please come down
to where i got myself dug in
