This is a story of father and son.
A hardy officer who thinks he knows best for the little one.
Sends him to school, success for the boys social adaptations.
The boy takes quickly to making friends and helping others.
Defines a unity to fill the void of a missing brother.
The boy looks good, good enough to make father proud.
But a once happy ending for a coward will lay to rest at least just for now.
The boy now weary of this right wing old man.
Leaves his home to put his life back in his hand
Only to find everything he believed in was wrong.
Growing up alone is hard but it makes you strong.
It builds up a plight and a fight you knew was there all along.
And then you know exactly what being a man means.
Meeting people and feeling cultures; now that's the life.
You can't always find success and you can't buy your rights.
The boy lived life off his own back and then fell in love.
First with his undiluted freedom but now his wife.
Now they have a child but he can't buy a house because of greed.
He's aware of what he's got but he knows exactly what this country needs.
He does all he can to help but he gets pushed aside.
He just can't seem to be heard in this conservative rising tide.
And now he knows exactly what being a slave means.
Time to fight against injustice.
How can you win when you're worthless?
How do you fight when your father's right there
Looking at you from behind a riot shield?
How do you know when your county's losing a fight that it started?
When will your moral values step in
When his father full well god damn knows what shit they're in
But his sights are set on him.
His son.
And now he knows exactly what being betrayed means.
