Из альбома: Hard-Headed Fool
Cruisin' the strip,
Too young for the bars,
Lookin' for change,
In the back of my car.
Dodgin' the cops,
We were up to no good,
Takin' chance after chance,
Gettin' high anyway we could.
Head hard as a brick Lord they couldn't tell me anything at all,
Better judgment went south with a few sips of alcohol.
Stubborn as a mule, ridin' that highway to hell, oh yeah,
Kept a knife in my pocket cause I thought I could handle myself.
I went off to school,
Found a new set of friends,
I used better drugs,
to help me fit in.
I'd skip every class,
Atleast two days a week,
I didn't need a lecture,
Near as much as the sleep.
Head hard as a brick Lord they couldn't teach me anything at all,
Better judgment went south with a few pitchers of alcohol.
Stubborn as a mule, ridin' that highway to hell, ohhhh,
No need for religion man I thought I could handle myself.
Ohh til' the ways of the world, were all that I knew,
When the sex, drugs, and music only gave me the blues.
I tried to change but it wadn't no use, the more that I said I quit,
the more I abused.
Then I talked to Jesus,
and He set me straight,
and said you reap what you sow boy, but it ain't too late to repent,
Oh, there might be hope for you yet.
Jefferson bound,
I headed back home,
Turns out my teachers and preachers,
Were right all along.
I settled down,
Got two crazy kids,
And I hope they'll do what I say,
and not what I did.
Head hard as a brick Lord they couldn't tell me anything at all,
Better judgment went south with my first drink of alcohol.
Now I'm older and wiser, but still I'm livin' down the past, ohhh.
Yeah what goes around comes around and boy it all comes around fast (2x)
