The air is brisk again
I wrap a scarf around my neck
Did I bring a hat
Maybe I should check
The warmth went on vacation
To another continent
It’s not an accident
Central Park’s so brilliant
The leaves are kaleidoscope colors
I’m struck with déjà vu From the sights and sounds this autumn
They bring me way back to my youth
Before I grew up Hit rock bottom
Stopped dreaming long ago
Though a fire still seems to burn inside
Every time I think I’m gonna try
I get scared I wanna hide
As the leaves change
I’m reminded of change
I’m another year older
Do you mind if I cry on your shoulder
I’m feeling kind of strange
From this blazing rate of change
Looking closely the mirror
Never seen myself any clearer
Stop wasting time
Gotta turn on a dime
Maybe see my life rearranged
If I quit doing everything the same
As the leaves change
Just want to stay in bed
Feeling like this frequently
Too many problems out there
Recently all I want to do is cuddle
Stay a little longer here
'Neath the blankets in our private huddle
But I’ve got another work deadline
Get up start my daily grind
I’m struck with déjà vu From the sights and sounds this autumn
They bring me way back to my youth
Before I grew up Hit rock bottom
Stopped dreaming long ago
Though a fire still seems to burn inside
Every time I think I’m gonna try
I get scared I wanna hide
As the leaves change
I’m reminded of change
I’m another year older
Do you mind if I cry on your shoulder
I’m feeling kind of strange
From this blazing rate of change
Looking closely the mirror
Never seen myself any clearer
Stop wasting time
Gotta turn on a dime
Maybe see my life rearranged
If I quit doing everything the same
As the leaves change
I know it’s gonna change
We will too
In this lifetime
As the leaves change
I’m reminded of change
I’m another year older
Do you mind if I cry on your shoulder
I’m feeling kind of strange
From this blazing rate of change
Looking closely the mirror
Never seen myself any clearer
Stop wasting time
Gotta turn on a dime
Maybe see my life rearranged
If I quit doing everything the same
As the leaves change
