I like to watch my dog sleep
Dreaming of a world we can't see
He shakes and whines, wrinkles his nose

Dreaming of things only dogs know
Maybe in his dream he's chasing a stick
Maybe there's a bone that he can't quite lick
Maybe he's running from a bear
If he's eating food then he won't' share
Maybe in his dream he's taking a bath
Terrified of the shower's wrath
He just wants to be another dirty dog
Running with his friends where he belongs
I like to watch my dog sleep
Dreaming of a world we can't see
He shakes and whines, wrinkles his nose
Dreaming of things only dogs know
Maybe in his dream he's chasing a mouse
His tail wags, knocking things about
Maybe he's swimming in the brook
Leaving lots of water where he shook
Maybe he's peeing on a tree
Marking so other dogs will see
That that tree is his own
So they better leave that tree alone
I like to watch my dog sleep
Dreaming of a world we can't see
He shakes and whines, wrinkles his nose
Dreaming of things only dogs know
