as you robbed the bank today

The moment you walked in and looked at me,
I smiled at you; I felt I knew you,
knew you wouldn't hurt me. I was not afraid.
I felt a little funny as you slid the note to me
I looked at you, and we both knew
that I would give you no marked money.
The shine in your eyes
as you calmly walked away
made me wish that I could talk to you,
though I know I never will.
I know I'll never see you again.
They closed the branch for the afternoon;
tried to re-enact the crime
And I said, "I was so scared,
I don't remember anything! Or anybody!
..... I'm sorry I've wasted your time."
And so they gave me paid vacation til next Thursday.
Just think - I don't have to wear pantyhose and I'll get paid.
