This dove-less morning brings a veil of rain clouds overhead
And in the distance smoke swirls up from the bridges that you've burnt
It took all i had to walk away from that tragedy

And you took all i had away from me
So what's left to put in the other side of the balance when death mirrors happiness?
Why can't i just take something nice and run with it?
Because I'm afraid I'll long for the touch of death's cold hands
The chains of doubt are never far behind in this game of cat and mouse
And when they catch up, and wrap themselves around your neck
It's much easier to tally another missed window of opportunity

The holdings for hope are few and far between
But when that's all you have to out-weigh death it becomes the reason to keep searching
So I'll re-kindle this candle and continue through this darkness
I've always said that i wanted to believe, but believe in what?
If this is the truth then what's left to believe in?
